part in sustaining our planet

The Problem:
Environmental Damage

The release of waste volatile anaesthetic gases is highly damaging to the environment and contributes significantly to the total carbon footprint of healthcare.

%

The percentage of volatile anaesthetic gas that is exhaled to the atmosphere as waste

The number of tonnes of CO2e (t/CO2e) released every year in the UK from volatile anaesthetic gases1

The amount of times a car would travel around the globe, based on the t/CO2e released each year in the UK

The Solution:

Our circular economy solution safely captures 99.9%2 of available volatile anaesthetic agents (sevoflurane, isoflurane, desflurane) through actively controlled adsorption onto a reusable capture canister. The captured waste is then recovered and recycled for future reuse.

The Solution:

Our circular economy solution safely captures 99.9%2 of available volatile anaesthetic agents (sevoflurane, isoflurane, desflurane) through actively controlled adsorption onto a reusable capture canister. The captured waste is then recovered and recycled for future reuse.

Integrating simply, seamlessly and universally into existing anaesthetic equipment, our practical solution is supported by an easy to use, fully managed collection and delivery service.

Waste volatile agents captured from hospitals are transported to and recovered at our regional UK hubs. The agents are then bulked up to be recycled to yield greener active pharmaceutical ingredients at our UK headquarters in Devon.

Our expert scientists have developed a unique, rigorously tested, high quality anaesthetic gas capture machine that is considered safe and effective by healthcare professionals and engineers.

A Commitment
To Change

SageTech Medical is driven by a passion to protect the environment, responding to the global crisis and helping conserve resources by preventing the unnecessary release of harmful anaesthetic gases into the atmosphere, helping us all to achieve our sustainability goals.
