SageTech Medical is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey towards sustainable healthcare: our first installation in a paediatric hospital!
Earlier this month, the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children successfully installed our SID-Dock waste volatile anaesthetic gas capture machine. This marks an exciting step forward in our collaboration with the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust to support their mission of reducing their carbon footprint.
Amelia Pickard, Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, expressed her enthusiasm about this development: “We are delighted to be the first paediatric centre to have installed this technology. As healthcare providers, we have a duty to care for not only the current population, but also future generations, and as a Children’s Hospital, we feel this especially strongly. Capturing these waste anaesthetic gases is a significant part of our plan to reduce the carbon footprint of the operations carried out here.”
The SID-Dock machine represents a significant advancement in the effort to create a more sustainable healthcare environment. By capturing waste anaesthetic gases, we are taking a crucial step in mitigating the environmental impact of medical procedures, aligning with global initiatives to combat climate change.
This installation is a testament to SageTech Medical’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in healthcare. We are proud to support Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust in their efforts to foster a greener future.
